CONDITIONALS   /   IF CLAUSES (part 2)

2^nd Conditional:

If I studied, I would pass.                       ou   I would pass if I studied.    

(Se eu estudasse, eu passaria.)                     (Eu passaria se eu estudasse.)

Condicionais são usadas para falar de situações que dependem de certas condições para se realizarem.

Eu passaria (situação improvável.)

Se eu estudasse (condição para que a situação acontecesse.)

Formato:  IF   passado   ,   would + verbo.    

If I didn’t work on weekend, I would go to your party.

( Se eu não tralhasse no final de semana, eu iria a sua festa.)

If I had time, I would go out for a walk.

(Se eu tivesse tempo, Eu sairia para uma caminhada.)

I would earn money  if I worked everyday.

(Eu ganharia dinheiro se eu trabalhasse todo dia.)

I don’t know the anwser. If I knew, I would tell you.

( Eu não sei a resposta. Se eu soubesse, eu contaria a você.)

Jane lives in a city. She likes cities. She wouldn’t be happy if she lived in the country.

( Jane mora na cidade. Ela gosta de cidades. Ela não estaria feliz se morasse no campo.)

If you didn’t have a job, what would you do?

( Se você não tivesse um trabalho, o que você faria?)

Obs:

Nas orações com IF, o verbo TO BE no passado tem a forma WERE para todas as pessoas.

If I were rich, I would travel every month.

( Se eu fosse rico eu viajaria todo mês.)

Relembrando o que é WOULD:

Um bom exemplo é a canção da Beyoncé, “If I were A boy”

f I were a boy, I would turn off my phone  (Se eu fosse um garoto, eu desligaria meu celular)

If I were a boy, I think I could understand  (Se eu fosse um garoto , eu acho que eu poderia entender)

Mas aqui está outro exemplo: “Tears in Haven” , de Erick Clapton que ele compôs quando seu filho faleceu, ou seja, são situações improváveis de ocorrer.

Would it be the same                    Seria o mesmo

First conditional

CONDITIONALS   /   IF CLAUSES

1^st Conditional:

If I study, I will pass.                       ou   Iwill pass if I study.    

(Se eu estudar, eu passarei.)             (Eu passarei se eu estudar.)

Condicionais são usadas para falar de situações que dependem de certas condições para se realizarem.

Eu passarei (situação real.)

Se eu estudar (condição para a situação acontecer.)

Formato:  IF   presente   ,   futuro.    

If I don’t work on weekend, I will go to your party.

( Se eu não tralhar no final de semana, eu irei a sua festa.)

If I have time, I will go out for a walk.

(Se eu tiver tempo, Eu sairei para uma caminhada.)

I will earn money  if I work everyday.

(Eu ganharei dinheiro se eu trabalhar todo dia.)

Obs: 

Ø  É possível inverter a ordem das frases.

Ø  É possível ter o tempo presente nas duas frases. (zero conditional)

Ex.  If plants don’t get water, they die.

       (Se plantas não pegam água, elas morrem.)

      If you study, you pass.

      (Se você estudar, você passa.)

Se eu dormir a mais.....

.....eu perco o ônibus.

Se eu me atrasar para a escola, minha professora fica brava. 

Se eu for a Londres....

....eu verei o Big Ben.

Se eu for ao Palácio de Buckingham, eu posso tirar uma foto da Guarda Real.

Se você for a Londres, você deve olhar à direita antes de atravessar a rua.
